Rocker and Wheel Well Repair (July, 15, 2004)

Here are some pictures of the right rear wheel well with a patch panel welded in. Here also some pictures of the right rocker panel removed and the preparations required to repair it with a full replacement panel. There are also a few shots of the drain holes in the body with the plugs removed. I decided that I would remove them, clean them and reseal them at a later time.
Status photos as of 7/15/2004:
Here are some pictures of the rust hole in the right inner wheel well. I will be making and welding in patches made of 18 gauge steel .
Here is the wheel well with the rust cut out. Here is the patch that I cut from a piece of sheet metal and bent to fit the contours of the wheel well.
Here is the panel welded in and the welds ground smooth.
Here is a picture of the area behind the right rocker panel. I removed the old rocker panel and cleaned off most of the rust on the metal behind it. In these pictures you can also see the replacement panel being cut to fit.
Here is a shot of one of the drain plug holes in the Trunk. There are two in the trunk. Here is a shot of the drain plug holes in the car on the passenger side of the car. There are three drain plugs per side in the car for a total of 6 in the passenger area. The 4 front ones are the same size as the trunk ones. The pair under the back seat are smaller than the rest.
