Here are some pictures of the left rear wheel well with a patch panel welded in. A few shots of both wheel wells coated in Zero Rust. There are also some pictures of the right inner rocker panel with a coating of Zero Rust. The next step will be to weld in the outer rocker panel. Not show in these photos is the coating of Zero Rust that was sprayed on the inside of the replacement outer rocker panel.
Status photos as of 7/22/2004:
Here are some pictures of the rust hole in the left inner wheel well. I will be making and welding in patches made of 18 gauge steel.
Here is the wheel well with the rust cut out. I sprayed a coating of weldable primer on it before welding them. I will later coat it with a layer of Zero Rust.
Here is the patch panel that I cut and bent to fill the hole left behind from cutting out the rust. Here are a few shots of the panel tacked in.
Here are a few shots of the panel welded in. I then grind down the welds to make the metal smooth.
Here are a few shots of the left wheel well patch completed and coated in Zero Rust. I still have a little work to do in the area in front of the wheel well behind the quarter panel.
Here are a few shots of the right wheel well patch completed and coated in Zero Rust.
Here is a picture of the right inner rocker panel. I removed the rust and coated the bare steel with Zero Rust.
Here is a shot of rear inner valence coated in Zero Rust. I have a lot of fabrication left to do on this panel. I need to repair both sides and the bottom right side.
