Core Support Repairs Part 1 (February 28, 2007)

Here is a long overdue update. I have not done much work on the car due to the fact that it is winter here in the northeast and my garage is not heated.
These pictures detail the process of repairing my front core support. swiss replica watches The first thing I did was to document, remove and tag all the brackets that mount to the front of the core support. Being that this is a 73, there are a lot of brackets on the front of the core support. Once the core support was stripped of all the brackets, I had to repair two rusted out areas on the core support and fill a few unnecessary screw holes. Although, This piece is currently being reproduced, I decided to repair the rust, because I try to use OEM body parts whenever they are available. Besides, this original piece is straight and the repaired areas are not going to be that visible.
I still have two holes to fill from hoses that were routed through the core support for an aftermarket automatic trans cooler. Once the repairs are done, I will strip the core support, prime it and paint it with a semi gloss black.
